Quogue

Welcome to Quogue

Home to the prestige and history found exclusively in the Hamptons.

When most think of life in the Hamptons, Quogue is precisely what comes to mind. This private beach town offers residents and visitors high-end living in a small-town setting. It features an exclusive country club, historic architecture, and some of the area’s most stunning beaches.

Quogue is also known for its commitment to preserving nature. In addition to keeping its beaches clean and unspoiled, area residents are passionate about local habitats and wildlife. This is especially evident at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, where visitors can spend hours learning about preservation efforts.

Properties in this part of the Hamptons come with a higher price tag than others in surrounding areas. The average price for a single-family home in Quogue is approximately $2.8 million. While there is an extensive inventory of homes around this price point, those searching for a spacious, high-end property with unsurpassed views can expect to spend between $10 to $20 million.

What to Love

  • Preservation of historic homes and properties from the Victorian era.
  • Beautiful beaches with ample privacy.
  • A prestigious country club, highly rated dining, and a commitment to the environment.

People & Lifestyle

Life in Quogue is laid-back, relaxed, and full of historic charm. While tourists do visit the area, visitors are respectful of the ambiance and residential areas. Walking through the streets and beaches of Quogue can easily make you feel as though you’ve stepped into an idyllic scene from the late 1800s or early 1900s.

Being located so close to the beach, Quogue also feels distinctly coastal. This vibe is reflected in the architecture and interior design of the area’s modern homes. It is also evident in how people spend their time. When the weather is warm, you’ll find people walking, running, swimming, and laying out at the three local beaches.

Dining, Shopping & Entertainment

It may come as a surprise to some, but Quogue has very few stores and restaurants. There are also limited places for out-of-town visitors to stay. These two intentional decisions have helped preserve the history and unique feel of this area.

The only significant shopping you’ll find in Quogue is located along Jessup Avenue. Here, you can find choice selections for your home bar at the Quogue Liquor Store, order a custom cake from Sugar Sugar, or browse items at Homespun gift shop. Additionally, be sure to check out what’s new at Double Rainbow Toy Store as well as Quogue Shop.

When you’re ready to grab a bite to eat, be sure to try the fantastic menu options at Beth’s Cafe, open seasonally. This hometown favorite serves up delicious pastries, avocado toast, lobster rolls, hearty sandwiches, and more. Quogue Market — another local favorite — offers a selection of creative sandwiches, açaí bowls, smoothies, and salads.

Things to Do

To further preserve the slower pace of life in Quogue, the things to do in the area are handpicked to fit residents’ needs. This is made clear through the exclusivity of nearly all clubs in the area, which are primarily reserved for those residing in town.

One of these clubs is the local favorite Surf Club. The family-friendly private beach club — situated right on the shore — features a swim team, an Olympic-sized pool, a restaurant, and fun seasonal events. A second area club — reserved for residents only — is the Quogue Beach Club.

Year-round, residents and visitors can enjoy the many things to do at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. The refuge hosts themed events throughout the year and features a butterfly garden, greenhouse, and miles of hiking trails.
